Marriages in Lithuania- from Jewishgen
December 3, 1863 Rivka Mera Goldfus, age 18, daughter of Borukh Goldfus, married Gershon Peri, age 25, son of Luoke Peri. This was in Telsiai, Telsiai, Lithuania.
May 31, 1874 Khana Mina Goldfus, age 25, daughter of Mark Alzyk Goldfus, married Leib Tavirinski, age 35, son of Nokhim Tavirinski. Both were widowers. This was in Telsiai, Telsiai, Lithuania.
April 12, 1876 Josel Goldfus age 70 married Khaia Esterman age 45. Josel was the son of Yankel Goldfus of Telsiai and Khaia was the daughter of Abel Esterman. Both the bride and groom were widowers.
April 3, 1885 Ginda Mira Goldfus age 56, daughter of Josel Goldfus, married Movsha Leib Khatskelevich, age 58, son of Mendel and wife Skidel. Both are widowers. This was in Telsiai, Telsiai, Lithuania.
Births in Lithuania, Laukuva, Vaniai
On March 8, 1876, a son, Iankel Meier Goldfus was born to Leib and his wife Ita. Leib's proud father was Chaim Goldfus. This was in Laukuva, Telsiai, Kaunas. The family was from Varniai, Lithuania.
I wonder if Iankel could be a brother to my grandfather, Nathan Goldfoot who was born about 1872 most likely in Lithuania. His father was also a Chaim Goldfus.
More on Laukuva, Lithuania from Mike Posnick
The list of Rabbi Electors for Laukuva of 25 February 1914 contained a record for a Leyb Gershon Goldfus, son of Chaim, age 71 born about 1843.
This means that there was born about 1810 or 1815 a Chaim Goldfus who had two sons, Gershon Yitzhak Goldfus and Yehudah Leib Goldfus. Also listed as the son of Chaim was Leyb Gershon.
Mike also states that the family name Goldfus is rare and Laukuva was small. He felt that the brothers' names were combined in the Rabbi Electors record.
This is most interesting to me as my grandfather, Nathan Goldfoot b: 1872, was the son of Chaim Itzhak Goldfus. I know that even first names will be repeated in a family and that is one way to trace people.
What's even more interesting is that Stanley Goldfoot's tree connects to Chaim Goldfus born abt 1855 in Telsiai, Lithuania and that this Chaim married Blum Kagan Cohen and died almost 100 years later in South Africa.
My ggrandfather, Chaim Itzhak Goldfus was born at about the very same time in most likely the very same place and we have no other information as his son, Nathan Goldfoot, died prematurely in a horse and wagon accident in Portland, Oregon when his son was about 4 years old. Could these two Chaims be the same persons? They could be cousins. From what I have learned, his wife was Devorah, but that was just heresay from my mother. I only know of Chaim's name from Nathan's headstone which lists in Hebrew, information that tells his father's name.
DNA tests validate our knowledge that we are connected, but we can't find the paper proof and tell who our connecting ancestor is, though it most likely was at least 300 years ago.
Old and New Goldfus/fuss
He was living in Telsiai, Telsiai, Lithuania and was listed in the Ateret Shaul Prenumeranten Lists.
More recently found was a David Goldfuss in Lauckura, Telsiai, Lithuania in Kaunas. He was a Holocaust survivor and was found in 1946 in Italy. Little did he know that my brother is David Goldfoot, and that we didn't know of another David. We named David David for a ggrandmother Devorah.
Another person most likely with David was Leibe Goldfuss. This person was found in the same place and was from the same place as David.
Volf Goldfus, son of Borukh Goldfus, was 20 years old and missing in a census on June 20, 1868. No doubt they wanted him for the army, but I could be wrong. This was also in Lithuania.

Entrance into Royalty
He was able to work on this and achieve certification even though his country of Croatia is trying to rob him of his home and business. They are using his Jewish heritage as sufficient reason to conviscate his property. Freddy was supposed to be out in the streets as of January 12th, but has been able to get the date postponed.
He sent me the certificate of recognition today along with his dna information. At one time the House of Ashina was quite powerful as it sat on the silk road, but the royalty has since scattered .
I believe he is turning the tables on this corrupt court and will in turn sue the judge for doing this to his family illegally.

How Prevelent Is Our W Female Haplogroup
The W haplogroup is only 0.0190 in Russia. 135 women tested were W's.
In Poland is was 0.0476. Only 16 women were tested who had it from there so far. However, in http://www.nature.com/ejhg/journal/v15/n4/fig_tab/5201764t2.html#figure-title, W was 3.1% in a Polish Jewish population and 3.7% in a non Jewish Polish population, and 2.7 in a Russian Jewish popuation while it was 2% in a Russian population.
As far as we know, Nathan and Hattie met in Council, Idaho, an off the way place in the mountains that was a mining town and hard to get to. I believe the train had just recently arrived there, which is probably how Nathan got there. They married November 20, 1905. W's originated around 20,000 years ago in the Altai Mountains of Turkey, Siberia and Mongolia, and that's exactly where Nathan's Q1b haplogroup of 1,000 years ago originated. I thought it was pretty unusual for these two to get together in Idaho.
We do have high percentages of W's in Caucasian, Persian and Turkic speaking populations.
In Iran, W's come in at 2.72% or 58 out of 2131. The Gilaki have the highest W percentage at 7.95% or 7 out of 88.
P.S. 4/28/2010: The oldest W found so far as reported by Mark Weide is from Unseberg, Germany who died in 6550 BCE. This was in the late Mesolithic era. W entered Europe with farmers from India on through the Balkans to the rest of Europe as it is understood at this time.

Our Goldfoot Family DNA
Our Jermulowske dna or mt dna is found to be W. This is a rare group, also found in the Altai mountain area for women. You can call it "Wilma Flintstone". Sykes didn't even know about it, and it actually one of the primordial "out of Africa" haplogroups. First, a little about the female dna. In fact, we are a W with the following exponents: 16145A, 16223T, 16265G, and 16519C. This is from a low resolution HVR1 test. It shows we are an Askenazi Jewish line. Not all W's are found in Jewish women. Our line is young, dating only from about 25,000 years ago and is an outgrowth of a larger group, not even listed by Sykes, called N, which dated back 65,000 years ago. N1 was found in Southern Siberia and was found in a 2,500 year old Scytho-Siberian burial in the Altai region.
Bryan Sykes wrote a book about female dna called "The Seven Daughters of Eve." He explained that 98% of all people of Western Europe descend from only seven women who lived in Europe within the last 50,000 years. These mothers descend from a common ancestor, Eve, who lived in Africa about 100,000 to 200,000 years ago. I guess this is where the garden of Eden was.
Our DNA makes us and comes from our mother and father. There are 23 chomosome pairs, one from each parent. The 23rd is different. You either get two xx's making you a female or you get an xy, making you a male. That's why a man can be tested and get the results of his mother and his father's dna. We females can only be tested for our mother's line. One interesting thing is that our mother's line goes back to the garden of Eden, just about without any change. A male dna line can mutate quite often, which lets us know more about what they've been up to.
